The report was funded by a grant from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, United States Department of Justice. Students, faculty, and administrators from Jackson State College and Kent State University (in addition to many other colleges and universities where demonstrations occurred) were interviewed as part of the research conducted for the report.
