A ceremony to rename and rededicate the old Student Union Building as Oscar Ritchie Hall. According to a Stater article from May 17, 1977, this change was initiated and organized by the Black United Students. The May event was attended by Ritchie's widow, Edith, and other family members. Mrs. Ritchie (center) is shown here viewing a portrait of her late husband painted and presented to her by Kent State University alumnus Ernest Pryor (right). At left is George Ritchie. |
