Description Postcard featuring an image of the exterior of Libby Prison. Caption: "63181 - Old Libby Prison. It was in this famous building which stood at the corner of 20th and Cary Streets, that thousands of Federal officers were imprisoned during the war. There were many thrilling escapes made from its walls, on one occasion as many as nineteen successfully escaped by tunnelling under its walls. Was dismantled in 1893, re-erected in Chicago for exhibition purposes during the World's Fair, and is now located there."
