The annual commemoration in 1980 featured speakers, such as activist and attorney Bella Abzug, peace activists Norma Becker and David Dellinger, civil rights activist Stokely Carmichael, attorney William Kunstler, former Student Council Vice-President and member of Black United Students Robert Pickett, and Nobel prize-winning scientist and peace activist Dr. George Wald.
