Includes three drafts of the paper, one of which is lightly annotated, and another of which is a later work that included some aspects of the campus mood case study. Also included are essays written by students in Lewis' Collective Behavior class, who, after the University was physically closed following the May 1970 shootings, were given the option to complete two 1,500-word essays as a way of completing their coursework and obtaining a letter grade. The second essay was to be about the mood on campus prior to the events of May 4, 1970. Student responses were analyzed and formed the basis of the report written by Lewis on campus moods prior to the shootings. A set of cards with selected student essay excerpts are also included. |
