Audio Recording: KSU Protest Rally, May 4, 1971

Description Audio recording by Bob Carpenter of a protest rally held on May 4, 1971 at Kent State University. A series of speakers talk about repressive conditions on campus, the ongoing protests to end the Vietnam War, the American political system and the struggle to effect change within it, freedom of speech, and arrests that occurred in relation to the preceding day's protests. Most of the speakers are not introduced by name, but speakers do include Robbie Stamps, one of the students wounded on May 4, 1970. The event ends with a musical performance. Some of the audio is difficult to hear. There is a lot of ambient background noise during portions of the recording.
