Music & Speech Building Occupation
Title |
Music & Speech Building Occupation |
Description |
The Music & Speech Building Occupation was a major KSU Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) demonstration event that resulted in the arrest of four SDS-Kent members as well as suspension of the organization’s charter. This led to a long series of protests both for and against SDS by various KSU constituencies. This event came on the heels of major protest events in 1968, including the Black United Students-SDS Oakland Police recruitment sit-in and the Black student walk-out in November of that year, among other events. |
